WE HELP YOU

RECOVER & REBUILD

GETTING YOU BACK IN THE GAME

WE HELP YOU

PREVENT & REPAIR INJURY

Managing injury rehabilitation is important for athletes and non-athletes.  If you are experiencing pain, meet with our sports medicine staff to get a reliable diagnosis, then learn activities to avoid and activities to increase in order to rebuild back to work or play.

If you have limited insurance coverage, or have run out of coverage, join our return-to-play small group instruction led by our sports medicine staff.  Most injuries require 4-8 weeks of rehabilitation, and are best treated with sessions 2-4 days a week.  Most insurance companies will not cover this amount of rehab so we have created an affordable model for getting the treatment you need.

If your activity is restricted by physical limitations or chronic health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, or osteoporosis, you need to exercise under careful supervision at a more modest pace than most exercise classes.  Allow our sports medicine staff guide you through carefully designed group exercise programs that fit your pace and abilities.

WE NOT ONLY TREAT INJURIES

WE HELP YOU PREVENT FUTURE INJURIES

All fitness programs at LIFT can be adjusted to any fitness level, however, sometimes you need a program that is designed for those that have limitations in function due to long term physical or health issues.  This group fitness monthly membership is designed specifically for people with physical limitations or chronic disease who have to more gradually progress their fitness.  This program could be the ideal fit for someone who is aging and who may have a chronic disease such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, or possibly even recovering from cancer.  Exercise is medicine and will be used to help improve the quality of life and function of the participants.

WE USE A SCIENTIFIC APPROACH

TO ASSES AND TREAT YOUR INJURY

Our therapists understand sport and what it takes to get an athlete back to the game after injury.  If you are feeling pain, allow us to perform a thorough injury rehabilitation and movement assessment and create an individualized treatment plan.  Our treatment is a combination of manual and exercise therapy, and will guide your recovery to rebuild your fitness for sport return.

WE HELP YOU RETURN

STRONGER THAN EVER

Sometimes your insurance does not adequately cover what is needed for effective injury rehabilitation.  For many injuries, you need almost daily therapy and paying out of pocket for these sessions is not possible.  For example, recovering from ACL surgery is generally 24 weeks for effective return to sport, and rehabilitation should be done almost daily.  The return to play program is a monthly membership that allows an athlete to join into a small group rehabilitation session multiple days per week under the supervision of our therapy staff.  The therapist will then work with our strength and conditioning coaches to reintegrate the athlete to regular training.

WE ALSO

WORK WITH TEAMS

National and provincial sporting organizations require athletic therapy coverage for many sport practices, games and tournaments.  Our Certified Athletic Therapists can provide the coverage you need for your team event and injury rehabilitation.  Contracts can be set up for individual events or entire seasons.

“Such an amazing gym! Started around 6 months ago for the 6 week challenge, and still getting such good results each week! Strongest I have ever been! The trainers and sessions are so awesome and made heaps of good friends. Absolutely love it and would and have 10/10 recommended it to others!! Also accountability part is awesome, not like a normal gym where they don’t care if you come or not. They are just as invested in your fitness journey as you are!!”

“Just completed the 6 week challenge with HIIT45 and loved it! I’ve never really been to the gym or done any classes before so was an absolute newbie but felt supported and had lots of fun. I found the early class times fantastic as a busy working mum of two – I could be done and home by 6.20 ready to “start” the day. The training is tough but doable. HIIT45  has increased my overall fitness, made me stronger, and feel so much healthier and energetic!”

I got my start into the world of fitness when my inspirational mom took a risk – she quit her long time career. She wasn’t seeing many people getting healthy working as an RN in a senior’s haven. She had worked in the medical field for almost 30 years but one day was brave enough to follow her heart and opened a fitness and wellness centre where she hoped people could come to work on preventative and restorative health.

It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with fitness. I loved how it made me feel. I loved how it made others who came in to the facility happy and I loved the incredible impact it made on so many people’s lives in our community. At the age of 16 I didn’t know to what capacity, but I knew fitness would always be a part of my life.

Today, after many years of personal training, nutrition coaching and having some amazing career highlights winning national and international awards, I have a dream to impact as many lives as possible with the amazing benefits fitness, healthy eating and proper supplementation have to offer. I am very blessed and privileged to be able to do this along side my best friend and husband, Graham Brown. Together I know we can make a difference. We are both very appreciative to have an amazing team of fitness professionals around us who really care about people and are inspired by our vision of sharing the transformative power of fitness with as many people as we possibly can. Nothing great was ever accomplished alone, so I am grateful for each and every staff member we have. Together, I know we are impacting lives, families and our local communities.

Every time I hear about a client overcoming depression, lowering their blood pressure and cholesterol, getting more confident and stronger, being able to run again, combating heart disease, losing weight, crossing a finish line, eliminating back pain, controlling diabetes and so many more, I can see why my mom took the risk she took and I feel very blessed to have been a part of it all. I can’t wait to see the impact become greater and the reach far broader and am committed to being a part of making this happen.

Athletics has always been a big part of my life. From the time I was a child, sports, fitness and phys-ed were by far my favorite school activities and that early I knew I wanted to pursue fitness as a career in some capacity. After high school I got a degree in Physical Education and Kinesiology from Brock University and went to the University of Alberta to pursue a Masters in Sports Psychology and Coaching.

During University I spent a year overseas studying at an elite sports school where I taught North American sports and coached several high ranking athletes. It was here that I developed a passion for working as an athletic trainer and here that I realized my desire to have a career that allowed me to help people get stronger, faster, healthier and better. After University I moved back home to share what I had learned with my local community and joined Alison at New U to assist in reaching as many people as possible with the amazing benefits fitness and healthy living have to offer.

My qualifications in the fitness industry and passion for teaching have allowed me several excellent opportunities within the industry as an educator conducting courses for personal trainers and a presenter at fitness conferences and seminars. Together, Alison and I have won several awards and have thus far had a very fulfilling career within the fitness industry. Despite all of our accomplishments, in many ways I feel as if we are just getting started. I have big dreams and plans for the future of New U and know that with the help of the talented team around us and the incredible support of our amazing members we will achieve our goals of reaching more and more people with the benefits of fitness and healthy living. The sky’s the limit!
